Lake Mountain Media and LDSWritingSchool.com challenge all
LDS writers to a write a complete novel in a single month!

In conjunction with National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org), Lake Mountain
Media (
www.LakeMountainMedia.com) will host a similar event during the month of
November 2005. We challenge LDS writers everywhere to write the rough draft of a
novel that’s at least 50,000-words in only thirty days!

Think it can’t be done? Last year, 5897 writers completed at least 50,000 words in a
novel during the November 2004
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Not only
can it be done, but you can do it and are hereby challenged to do so! We believe you
can do it and are offering the services of our website to offer support to those who want
to give it a try!

You can sign up for the national challenge at
www.nanowrimo.org and then sign up for
the LDS portion of the challenge at the
Lake Mountain Media Forums. This is the
second time Lake Mountain Media has issued this challenge and this time we hope it will
be even bigger!

Motley Vision” blogger William Morris coined the term “Mormon Novel Writing Month
2004” (MoNoWriMo) when he wrote about the Lake Mountain Media Novel-in-a-Month
Challenge. This year we’ve adopted William’s term as the official name of the second
annual challenge and we hope to get more LDS writers to join us in the challenge. Don’t
let this opportunity pass you by!

LDS writers who accept the challenge can support each other during the month of
November by posting to the forums provided by Lake Mountain Media. All you have to
do is sign up at the
Lake Mountain Media Forums, post to the roll call thread, and then
write 50,000 words or more in thirty days or less. It’s free and it’s fun! By Thanksgiving,
many will have already reached the 50,000 word goal and continue on to 80,000 words
or 100,000 words! It has happened before and will no doubt happen again this year. Will
you be there when it does? Will you be a part of it?

“So what do I get?” you might ask. Well, first and foremost, you get a completed novel in
thirty days. That’s a pretty good reward. We can’t guarantee what you’ll write will be a
best seller, but we can’t write it for you, too! You want more than that? Well, okay, you
asked for it!

All LDS writers who compete the challenge and write 50,000 words or more will officially
win the challenge and get a free download of the audio book
A Mormon Christmas Carol
by
Darvell Hunt, a two-and-a-half-hour audio book read by the author.. Your novel
doesn’t even have to be an LDS novel to win, but you do have to be signed up at the
Lake Mountain Media forums to win.

The challenge will last from November 1 to November 30. Anyone interested in
participating should log into the
Lake Mountain Media Forums and sign up. If you’re not
interested in completing the challenge, but wish to join in the fun, feel free to drop by,
sign up, and participate in the discussions. The more writers we have, the more fun it will
be!

You have almost thirty days from this announcement to prepare for the challenge and to
sign up. Don’t miss the boat on November 1! Come sail with us and join in the fun!
